ANTHEM Parent Cue – Moods

Happy New Year! As we gather together (both in-person + digitally) for the first time in 2021, we are excited to kick off with a brand-new series: Moods.

Over the next four weeks in ANTHEM, we will be focusing in on emotional health. One of the biggest challenges that a junior higher faces on a daily basis is managing their emotions or moods. They are feeling a lot of feelings, many of which they may be experiencing for the first time. Because of that, they struggle to name, express or acknowledge their feelings in this phase.

That is why we will be starting the new year discussing this subject of emotional health. Our goal is to help junior highers develop an awareness of their feelings and the emotional vocabulary to express their moods in a healthy way.

As we jump into this new series, we want all parties involved to feel equipped + properly resourced. We are walking our ANTHEM Tribe Leaders through trainings on a tool that we will be using (a Feelings Wheel), as well as providing them with conversation guides + other resources for navigating through the various aspects of the topics we are approaching. With that said, we want to prepare YOU (the parent or guardian of the teenager) just as much for the conversations that might come up when the Tribe Leader is not present or available.

Below this post, you will find various resources (Parent Cue guide, conversation guides, etc.) that will provide direction + insight into this series.

As always, if you ever have questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email ([email protected]).

Thank you for allowing us to partner with you to make an impact in the life of your teenager!
