ANTHEM Parent Cue – Trending (Coping)

This past Sunday, we concluded our annual dating, relationships + sex series: Awkward. As we kickoff the month of March, we will be having a standalone conversation this Sunday that centers itself around this question: How do I deal with everything?

In this week’s message, we’re talking about the difference between helpful and unhelpful coping skills that JH’ers may be using to deal with what they’re feeling. As your teenagers mature and grow, they’re dealing with a wide range of new emotions, experiences, and behaviors that may leave them struggling to cope in a healthy way. Introducing and encouraging helpful coping skills now will help them not only recognize the ways they can better manage their emotions, but also help them see areas in which they may not be coping well.

Just as we prepare our ANTHEM Tribe Leaders with resources for this conversation, we want to prepare YOU (the parent or guardian of the teenager) just as much for the conversations that might come up when the Tribe Leader is not present or available.

Below this post, you will find various resources (Parent Cue guide, conversation guides, etc.) that will provide direction + insight into this standalone conversation.

As always, if you ever have questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email ([email protected]).

Thank you for allowing us to partner with you to make an impact in the life of your teenager!
