ANTHEM Parent Cue – Trending (Words)

This past Sunday, we concluded our five-week series: It’s Personal. Before we jump into our annual Christmas conversation at the end of November, we will be having a standalone conversation this Sunday that centers itself around this question: Do our words really matter?

In this week’s message, we’re covering the importance of seeing the impact and power of our words. A conversation like this can be tricky for junior highers. While they may understand the difference between “good” and “bad” words, recognizing the intent and impact behind their words requires self-awareness and reflection that they’re still developing.

For the teaching portion this weekend, we will be having a panel discussion to discuss the importance of words. Here are the following individuals that will be featured in our HS panel on Sunday night:

  • Dan Pollak (ANTHEM Youth Coordinator)
  • Hunter Lang (High School Senior + ANTHEM Intern)
  • Becca Johnson (ANTHEM Tribe Leader)
  • Kim Mercado (ANTHEM Coach + Parent)

Just as we prepare our ANTHEM Tribe Leaders with resources for this conversation, we want to prepare YOU (the parent or guardian of the teenager) just as much for the conversations that might come up when the Tribe Leader is not present or available.

Below this post, you will find various resources (Parent Cue guide, conversation guides, etc.) that will provide direction + insight into this standalone conversation.

As always, if you ever have questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email ([email protected]).

Thank you for allowing us to partner with you to make an impact in the life of your teenager!
