Pick Out our Clothes

So often as parents we pick out the clothes for our kids each day. We may buy a new outfit, organize a drawer, or even gently guide them to do this task themselves. I pray as parents that we take the time each morning and everyday to put on our godly wardrobe.

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

Colossians 3:12-14 (MSG)

We have His guidance, direction and Holy Spirit empowering us through our days. Let’s continue daily to toss off the dirty, tattered, and even worn out clothes that we often wear. Let us walk confidently in God’s beauty, light, and radiance that He gives us each day. We are God’s masterpiece and I encourage myself and others to show our kids how garments of praise and strength can be worn everyday.

Thank you God for the new beauty and mercy that you give, and for an opportunity to wear a Godly wardrobe each day. I pray for strength and your perfect peace over the parents that seek you in their daily parenting walk. Thank you for the gift of raising your children and showing them the love of Jesus.
